SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) — For this week’s See It or Skip It, ABC4 Film Critic and Tomatometer-Approved Critic Patrick Beatty is bringing the hot takes and hotter popcorn debates with two voices in the Utah critic game, Rebecca Frost and Kent Dunn. From superhero animation to satirical slapstick, this week is packed with fun, but possibly the worst film of the year? Let’s get into it.

Frank Drebin Jr. is a clumsy cop with a big badge and a seemingly endless supply of coffee, crashing his way through a conspiracy only he can make worse. Liam Neeson’s seriousness clashes in all the best ways with the sheer dumbness of this hilarious film. Pamela Anderson continues on the “Pamessaunce”, and slapstick chaos reigns in this reboot of the classic spoof series that is both worthy and even excels as one of the best comedy reboots ever made. If you enjoy humor like that of “Austin Powers” or “Airplane”, then this is the best pick for the weekend for you. Make sure you see it with a packed crowd in a theater!

Told entirely through screens and digital devices, this “screenlife” thriller tries to bring H.G. Wells’ classic into the tech era, but not only fails at being entertaining, fails at being a movie itself. The worst acting of the year, the worst CGI of the year, and the worst film of the year, hands down.

Across centuries, Wakanda has protected vibranium, but few know the warriors who risked everything to do it. “Eyes of Wakanda” follows legendary operatives across the globe as they recover stolen artifacts, face ancient foes, and defend the legacy of the Black Panther. With impressively rich animation and 4 stories that all build on each other, it’s refreshing to return to Wakanda with a deeper sense of its roots and its history.

The engines are louder, the weapons are bigger, and the tournament is bloodier. Season two of “Twisted Metal Season 2” throws John Doe into a new hellscape, facing psychotic drivers, deranged cults, and the mysterious puppetmaster Calypso. Season 2 is fulfilling the promises made with season one and has made this fan of the original video games giddy, seeing the cars, the mayhem, and the surprising humor in this adaptation.
