Dinosaurs are back again, but now the world’s too cold for them, literally. Most dinosaurs are extinct for real this time, but a team of scientists is sent to a remote island to recover rare DNA for a life-saving drug. Of course, it all goes wrong, Dinos attack, people run, it’s a perfect recipe for a blockbuster summer movie. While it’s not by any means a perfect movie, ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth” brings enough suspense and nostalgia to make it a fun summer blockbuster movie to take the family to.

Christian Swegal
Starring:
Nick Offerman, Jacob Tremblay, Dennis Quaid, Martha Plimpton, Thomas Mann

True Crime Thriller

Nick Offerman ditches the jokes for full-blown danger in this slow-burning thriller based on real-life extremism. A young man gets wrapped up in a twisted ideology passed down from his father, and the deeper it goes, the scarier it gets. It’s intense, grounded, and uncomfortably close to home.

Heads of State (PG-13)

Directed By:
Ilya Naishuller
Starring:
Idris Elba, John Cena, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jack Quaid, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, Carla Gugino
Genre:
Action Comedy

John Cena and Idris Elba trade in their heads of state suits for bodyguards with baggage when the US President and UK Prime Minister get caught in a full-blown conspiracy. It’s big explosions, sharp suits, and action-comedy banter with international stakes. ‘Heads of State’ is both a throwback to the mid-budget action thrillers from before, but a reminder of how much fun a simple, silly idea could be if performed by the right cast.

The gang is back and somehow worse than ever, in the best way possible. This season throws everything at us, beginning with the second half of the hilarious crossover event with ABC’s “Abbott Elementary.” So far this season is in conversation to be one of the best of the show’s 17 seasons, hearkening back to the show’s roots and proving that the gang stands the test of time.
